A GHD is only a salon stop away!

We’ve always loved GHD, so we’re excited to now stock their products in salon to use on our clients, as well as for clients to buy for themselves at home – but how do you know which one you should choose?

Well, our new free-to-use GHD Style Stations may offer the perfect solution!

June saw the launch of a brand-new partnership with GHD, who supply a huge range of hair styling products and tools to help ensure you can achieve a good hair day every day, from the comfort of your own home! We couldn’t wait to get our hands on the products to decide what we liked best, which got us thinking about how we could help our clients test the tools out for themselves, without having to commit to buying first (we’ve all been there, and there really is nothing worse than buying a hair tool that doesn’t really do what you thought it would!). So, we decided to kit some of our salons out with dedicated Style Stations!

Perfect for testing out our new range, the Style Stations have been filled with a carefully selected range of hair straighteners, curlers and hot brushes so you can decide which is best for you, your hair and the styles you want to achieve every day at home.

''We sent in Nikki, our Head of Marketing and owner of, in her words, ‘the worlds straightest and most un-curl-able hair’ to test out some of the tools.

‘I headed out to our Southampton salon bracing myself for disappointment - I’ve never found that I can use a curling tong, hot brush or straightener to do anything other than make my poker straight hair, well, straighter. I know, I should be ashamed of myself when I work for Haringtons!

As I walked in the salon, my eyes were firmly trained on the Oracle, a tool that looks like a straightener with plates shaped like corrugated card, but bigger. Apparently, all I need do is section my hair, pop each section in at a time, angle my wrist and let the tool do the work, gliding through my hair for a gentle wave (the sharper the angle of your wrist being the more pronounced the curl).

BEFORE

After prepping my hair with some Pli, by L’Oreal (available in salon and honestly a gift if you want a little oomph in your hair, if it’s fine and flat like mine) I clamped the Oracle shut and let it glide…at first glance, success, a wave had formed (small whoop). I continue…and within about 30 minutes, as I am definitely a novice, I certainly have a head full of waves, with a little coaching from the team, I brush my hair through with a wide comb and I definitely have volume. Still ever the sceptic, I’m pretty convinced this won’t last more than the obligatory 20 minutes, but with the right finishing spray, I’m over the moon to say that the waves lasted until the end of the day and well into the evening…and an Oracle was firmly put on my most wanted list…absolute result.

AFTER

What a result Nikki! Now, if we’re honest, we think the best bit about all of this is that the stations are completely free to use, and you don’t even need an appointment – you just turn up and try! They are the perfect spot to stop at if you want to give your hair a little freshen up during a day of shopping, or if you’re out for afternoon drinks and want to make sure you’re looking your best.

Our salon stylists have also been trained on all the products GHD offer, so are always happy to have a chat with you and help you pick the right tool to get the style you want – just speak to reception when you’re in salon.

Our Style Stations are currently available in Winchester, Southampton, Beaconsfield and Maidenhead but don’t worry, if that's not your usual salon, you'll start to see Style Stations near you from September!
